John McGarry

Biography

A member of the Irish Volunteers, John McGarry was active in the Sackville (O’Connell) Street area during Easter week. He was sentenced to death by the court martial but this was commuted to a sentence of eight years. He was released in June 1917 and was active in the War of Independence and in the National Army during the Civil War.
