A private in the Irish Citizen Army, Michael O’Doherty was based in St. Stephen’s Green during the Easter Rising. He was severely wounded on Easter Tuesday, when he was hit by bullets in the head, eye, arm and body. He never fully recovered from his injuries and died in December 1919.
