William Corcoran was active in Easter 1916 in Galway as a member of the Oranmore Company, Galway Brigade, Irish Volunteers. He was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment after the Rising and served his sentence after the Rising in Pentonville Prison and Frongoch. He was active in the War of Independence.
